News Policy
News is a contextual update system connected to accountable Events, Communities, Services, or platform/admin announcements.
Connected source required
News must be connected to an owned Community, Event, Service, or platform/admin context. Normal users do not publish ownerless public News directly.
Global News can aggregate listings for discovery, but each News item still needs an accountable source and owner.
Not a discussion feed
News is for announcements, updates, reports, urgent changes, service updates, and platform notices — not gossip, debate, politics, accusations, or free-form posting.
Comments are off or restricted by default. Public open comments should not be the default News mode.
Visibility and accountability
News visibility may be public, logged-in only, community-members-only, event-attendees-only, or admin/draft depending on context.
The responsible owner must be visible enough for users to understand who published the update and where it belongs.
